Travertine is a porous stone that is usually found at the bottom of limestone caves. It is a very hard stone with a honed finish that has a very rustic appearance. Travertine is typically in the white and yellow colour families and has small pin holes throughout giving it an organic texture. Due to its porous nature, travertine is not recommended for kitchens.
